Leong Chee Weng heads TCC’s construction dispute resolution and international arbitration Practice Group. Prior to joining TCC, Chee Weng works in Lee Hishammuddin Allen Gledhill, a top tier dispute resolution law firm majoring in the firm's Energy, Infrastructure & Projects and International Arbitration Practice Group. Chee Weng is regularly involved in complex or high value disputes in all levels of the Malaysian courts, Arbitration, Mediation and Adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012. He is also actively engaged in reviewing and drafting various contracts, rendering practical and constructive advice from both legal and commercial perspectives.

He has previously advised and acted for clients in disputes relating to amongst others construction of a biopharmaceutical plant, construction of a mixed development with an estimated project size of RM350 million, construction of a fuel hydrant pipeline in KLIA, supply of Malaysian passport, advising the international company on the Malaysian Light Railway Transit project and construction of a waste treatment plant, first of its kind in Malaysia.

Chee Weng is also a frequent speaker and author of numerous publications.

  • Advising and representing subsidiary of a Fortune 500 Company relating to construction of a condominium in Sabah and Johor for a total dispute amount of approximately RM61 million.
  • Advising in dispute concerning earthworks and soil investigation works in the restoration of train in Kelantan for a dispute amount of over RM20 million
  • Advising and representing one of Malaysia’s top developers and its subsidiaries in disputes relating to construction of condominium and factory
  • Acting as counsel for subsidiary of a listed company in a dispute relating to the Eco Horizon, Beacon and Tri-Pinnacle Projects.
  • Advised and represented a Seremban based company in disputes against architect concerning a proposed condominium development.
  • Advised a Swiss based company on disputes concerning the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.
  • Advised and represented a Chinese construction company in disputes concerning a mixed development where the total project size is estimated to be in excess of RM350 million.
  • Advised the subsidiary of a Malaysia’s Fortune 500 oil and gas company in disputes relating to construction of fuel hydrant pipe- line in KLIA
  • Advising in disputes concerning the construction of palm oil mill
  • Advised and represented a Sarawak based company in disputes relating to the construction of waste treatment plant.
  • Advised and represented a Russian development company in disputes concerning a mixed development.
  • Advised and represented one of the world largest palm oil processors, Mewah Group in the world in disputes relating to the supply of Crude Palm Oil.
  • Advised and represented a Sarawak based company in disputes relating to the construction of waste treatment plant.
  • Advised and represented subsidiary of one of Malaysia’s leading conglomerates and listed company in an adjudication for the construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project which is valued at approximately RM16.63 billion for a claim of over RM49 million.
  • Advised and represented subsidiary of India’s largest biopharmaceutical company in disputes relating to the construction of a biopharmaceutical plant in Malaysia.
