Commencing his legal career with Messrs Ranjit Singh & Yeoh, a boutique dispute resolution outfit, Anas was involved in complex disputes premised on various causes of action often involving intricate facts and novel issues of law.

Prior to joining TCC Law, Anas was a senior associate at Messrs CY Wong Ng & Partners.

Anas is known for his pragmatic and practical sensibilities when approaching complex issues and the same has translated to his practice where he has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts.

  • Acted for a telecommunications company in an action brought against former directors for breaches of fiduciary duties and the tort of passing off against companies incorporated by the former directors.
  • Represented an individual in successfully striking off an action for want of prosecution.
  • Acted for individuals in defending claims brought by banking institutions for breach of loan and guarantee agreements.
  • Part of a team who represented plaintiffs in an oppression petition in respect of the affairs of a family holding company where via settlement, the plaintiffs’ shares were purchased for a cash consideration of RM240m.
  • Part of a team who represented a businesswoman charged under Section 87A(a) of the Securities Industry Act 1983 for using a scheme to defraud a company resulting in her acquittal.
  • Part of a team who had represented a prominent opposition politician in the successful defence of defamation action brought by a government backed livestock company and acted for a statesman and former transport minister in a defamation action commenced by the former Prime Minister
    of Malaysia.
